Quality Holiday Gite Complex in northern Brittany with new heated swimming pool –  2023

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – We are currently undertaking major building work at our gite complex. These changes affect both the exterior and interior of the property. Amongst these changes are a newly refurbished swimming pool and the alteration of the current two let properties into one extended family gite comprising four bedrooms, three of which are en-suite. As a direct result of these changes, our former two gite lets – L’Aurore and Bon Temps are being renamed ‘Maison La Perouse’. Work is currently ongoing with an expected completion date of early April. We will reopen the business in the final week of April. Some information on the website has been updated already. New photographs and a slightly different website layout will be posted on the site soon. Please note that the 2023 prices for Maison La Perouse are now listed on our website, For all enquiries relating to our gite complex, please refer to the current booking calendar on the website and the contact form provided both of which are up to date. Thank you….Sue & Patrick

Welcome to the luxury holiday setting of La Boudonniere and the gite complex ‘Maison La Perouse’, situated in the beautiful  countryside of the Ille et Vilaine region of northern Brittany, France. The complex provides an opportunity to relax  within an enclosed private gite setting , situated in expansive tranquil grounds of almost four acres including a natural wood, a heated swimming pool during summer months, play area, extensive lawned gardens and a small lake. As with most areas in Brittany, La Boudonniere is very close to woodland and forest –  home to deer, wild boar, foxes, hares, rabbits, badgers and a large variety of  birds including woodpeckers, kingfishers, cuckoos, owls, herons, buzzards, egrets and turtle doves. The popular Villecartier Forest and Lakes are only a few minutes walk from the gite , where you can experience a whole range of activities including pony trekking, cycling, walking, adventure climbing, boating or you can relax at The Moulin Cafe overlooking the main lake. With so little light pollution in the area, the sky at night overlooking our property boasts one of the best views of stars, planets and constellations anywhere in France.

There are several other pretty villages nearby where you can further sample daily French life as well as shopping in the local weekly markets.

The historic and popular tourist towns of  Combourg and Dol de Bretagne are both fifteen  minutes away as is the market town of Pontorson on the Normandy border. The famous historical town of Dinan and it’s picturesque canal port is also within easy access. The area also boasts two of the most famous tourist destinations in the whole of France –  the port and old town of St. Malo and the legendary  Mont St. Michael.  Rennes , the capital of Brittany is well worth a day trip either by car or train. It boasts an extensive range of famous shops, restaurants, parks and busy nightlife.  Secluded sandy beaches and beautiful coastline are also a feature of the region and are only a short drive away. Wherever you choose to visit in northern Brittany and beyond, destinations are easily accessible with excellent roads and train routes. Cycling is also extremely popular in the area with many special cycle routes available. There is an airport within forty minutes drive of our gite complex on the outskirts of Rennes. This compact airport offer regular flights across Europe including several airports in the UK throughout the year.
