Welcome to our luxury holiday gites setting of La Boudonniere , situated in the beautiful countryside of the Ille et Vilaine region of Brittany, France. An opportunity to relax in one of our two stunning gites situated in their own private, expansive tranquil grounds of almost four acres which includes a natural wood, a heated swimming pool during summer months, play area, extensive lawned gardens and a small lake. As with most areas in Brittany, La Boudonniere is very close to woodland and forest – home to deer, wild boar, foxes, hares, rabbits, badgers and a large variety of birds including woodpeckers, kingfishers, cuckoos, owls, herons, buzzards and turtle doves. The popular Villecartier Forest and Lakes are only a five minute walk from the gites , where you can experience a whole range of activities including pony trekking, cycling, walking, adventure climbing, boating or you can relax at The Moulin Cafe overlooking the main lake. With so little light pollution in the area, the sky at night overlooking our property boasts one of the best views of stars, planets and constellations anywhere in France.
Gites La Boudonniere are easily accessed from a main road and we are less than five minutes from the picturesque small town of Bazouges La Perouse where you will find a varied range of amenities including a supermarket, shops, cafes, bars, bank, tourist information office, pharmacy, garage and post office. There are several other pretty villages nearby where you can further sample daily French life as well as shopping in the local markets.
The historic and popular towns of Dinan, Combourg and Dol de Bretagne are all only minutes away as is the market town of Pontorson on the Normandy border. The area also boasts two of the most famous tourist destinations in France – the port and old town of St. Malo and the legendary Mont St. Michael. Rennes , the capital of Brittany is well worth a day trip either by car or train – and boasts an extensive range of famous shops, restaurants, parks and busy nightlife. Secluded sandy beaches and beautiful coastline are also a feature of the region and are only a short drive away. Wherever you choose to visit in northern Brittany and beyond, destinations are easily accessible with excellent roads and train routes. There are also two airports within half an hour’s drive of La Boudonniere at Dinard and Rennes. Both these airports offer regular flights across Europe including several airports in the UK. Should you consider hiring a car whilst on holiday in France, this is very easy to arrange and the daily hire rate is not expensive.
